Wax melts, sometimes known as wax tarts, are a great alternative to candles because you get the same wonderful scent filling your home but without the open flame. If you’re wondering how to use wax melts, we’re here to help.
Before you begin, you’ll need a wax melter. There are three options: a tealight melter, a plug-in melter, or an outlet plug-in melter. Once you’ve got your wax melt warmer, you’re ready to start enjoying.
How to Use Wax Melts
- Break off one or more squares to place in the bowl of your electric or tealight wax melter. We suggest one square for a more subtle wax melt scent and two squares for a stronger scent. Highly scented wax melts can last for days when you use 1-2 cubes, depending on how long you melt for each day.
- Allow the wax to melt completely and enjoy for as long as you’d like. We recommend that you don’t leave your wax melter unattended while it’s in use.
- Be sure to turn off your wax melter once you’ve finished enjoying the scent for the day. If you have a tealight melter, blow out the tealight flame. If you’re using an electric melter, switch it off.
- Continue to use the squares until the scent is no longer noticeable, then replace with new squares. You can continue with the same scent, or clean out your wax melter and replace with new wax melt cubes.
